This page collects some of my "DJ mix"-style concatenations of existing recordings, as opposed to the sample- and loop-based Mother of Vinegar and MONO projects.

Late Pre-Covid "Lost" Mix (March 2020, restored 2025)

A mix I was working on in early 2020 just before the lockdowns started. Mostly featuring "easy listening" deep and tech house that I liked playing in the car at the time, this would have been the last mix uploaded to my old Mixcloud page, but was never completed; it's now available for the first time in this reconstructed form, sounding better than ever.

Duckwalk Through the Fire To Me (December 2018, restored 2025)

A derivative "digital DJ" drag performance. Originally uploaded to Mixcloud in December 2018 (and on constant repeat in my car over the following few months), this recording has been reconstructed and re-rendered and now sounds better than ever.

Long-haul Ambient Trip for Serious Zone-heads Only (November 2018)

Mostly '90s Instinct and FAX New York style slow computer music, mixed with audio from the Peter Weir film Picnic at Hanging Rock. Originally uploaded to Mixcloud in November 2018 with the description "there and back again • 'no justice, no beats'"; first appeared on this web site in January 2026.

End-of-the-Year Mix 2024

More than five hours of deep, sensual sounds to soothe and to stimulate, being an eclectic mix of some recordings to which I was attracted in 2024.

End-of-the-Year Mix 2023

Presenting some of the recordings that most haunted me in 2023. This is the first of these audio projects rendered entirely with "free software."

My Past Five Years as a Virtual Mixtape, 2018-2023

Commemorating the fifteenth anniversary of my current last.fm account with a "mix tape" style presentation of more than two hours of recordings selected from those it says I've most listened to since I began using the site again in the five years leading up to June 2023. Includes much of the source material for my recent Mother of Vinegar streams.

Come Ride With Me (April 2018)

"The man who plays 'on his radio' as if it were an instrument, obtaining ready-made, accordion-like chords dragged into each other in a dilettantish way, is a sort of model for all behavior where individual initiative attempts to alter ubiquity-standardization."

-- T. W. Adorno, Radio Physiognomics

This "mix" was edited down from several recordings I made in the car while turning the radio dial in April 2018. Many of the quick cuts you hear result from the car's digital radio tuner failing to resolve between two frequencies.
